OK, let us try to explain. We are not a roadtrip visiting multiple escape rooms. It’s more that you are in an outdoor escape room as large as a part of Europe and for three consecutive days. With your team your task is to solve a quest. It’s a story line which covers the three full days of the event and each day you get closer by solving the mystery. You will get puzzles to solve and if you do them right you get clues where to go next. In that way you find your way to new clues. To be sure that we all end up in the same location, we do give you the address of the camping at the start of each day. So even if you fail to solve some of the puzzles, you can still continue the quest. In the end of day 3 hopefully your team is able to solve the mystery and the best team will be rewarded a price. Got it?
Keep on breathing and sign up for our newsletter where we keep you up to date with new editions.
If you can’t make the main wacky wheels event or want to have your private version for your company/department, send us your details and we’ll come back to you.
If your edition starts in Dover, then you have the following options to get there with your own car:
- Euro Tunnel from Calais (35 minutes; up to 4x/hour)
- Ferries from Calais (90 minutes; every hour)
- Ferry from Duinkerken (2 hours; up to 12x/day)
All options operate 24/7. Check the links to find and book the best option.
The event ends at the third day with the party. Probably you will spend that night there. From there it’s about a 500 km (3oo km for the UK edition) drive back to the starting location, so you should easily be able to get back on day 4.
That’s something we don’t reveal yet! It’s a 3 day ride and we’ll drive approximately 300-400 km per day. Where you end up each day, is up to you to discover by following the clues given to you! Don’t worry, we’ll make sure that everybody reaches the destination in the end.
The distance you drive per day is approximately 300-400 km. Of course it depends on your navigation and puzzle solving skills…
Basically, you can use any vehicle you like! We wouldn’t recommend going by bike or on foot however, since the 300+ km daily distance might be a bit too far. Car, motorbike or camper van are all great ways to participate!
There are no requirements such as age or value of the vehicle. The only requirements are the ones given by the law. Make sure your vehicle is road legal and insured in the EU. Other than that, feel free to bring your Ferrari or a Trabant or anything in between.
Ask your family, your friends, your boss or anyone who might be willing to let you use their car. Or better, invite one to your team! You can also rent a car, for example on www.snappcar.nl you can not only rent cars, but even camper vans from private people!
Unfortunately, we can’t provide any road assistance ourselves. You might want to consider having an insurance for EU countries, including roadside assistance. Or bring some tools yourself of course…
In case of emergencies, you can always call the organisation and we will help with whatever we can do!
Even though Wacky Wheels is all about having fun, it’s also a game and like in every game, there are some rules to follow. Check the Rules of the game for a complete overview.
Yes, the minimum age for participants is 18.
When signing up, you get the option to reserve a spot on a campsite. The accommodation isn’t included in the price, it’s just to guarantee you a spot on the same camping as your fellow participants! If you don’t like camping, you can arrange another stay by yourself (e.g. via Airbnb or booking.com), but only on the day itself, since you hear the final destination in the morning of that specific day.
No, food and drinks are not provided. It’s up to you if you want to bring your own food, start a BBQ at the campsite, visit local restaurants or whatever suits you best.
You can sign up by filling out the sign-up-form. After submitting the form, you will be asked to make the payment (see other question).
You can pay the fee by iDeal, credit card, PayPal or Apple Pay directly after filling out the sign up form.
For a clear overview of the costs, check the costs section on the homepage.
We really regret that you won’t be able to participate, but unfortunately we can’t reimburse your registration fee. A successful Wacky Wheels is only possible with an eager group of participants, so we want you to be sure and enthusiastic at the moment you sign up your team!
We advise to take out a cancellation insurance, which will probably reimburse the fee when given a good reason.
You should get in touch with us at email@example.com. We’ll send you a link after that to pay for the additional member
At the start of the Wacky Wheels, you report to the organisation and sign the waiver about liability and agreeing to the rules (if you haven’t sent this to us digitally already). Make sure to also bring valid IDs (passport for the UK edition) (since we will cross borders), car insurance documents and driving licence.
To solve the clues, puzzles and challenges you’ll need pen and paper and your smartphones with enough EU internet data (for the UK-edition a simcard with UK-internet data). To save on internet data for navigation, you can download the countries next to the starting point in Google Maps or Maps.me app. Don’t forget to bring a car charger and a power bank.
If you decide to stay at the campsites, then of course bring your tent, plates, cutlery and other camping gear, some camping entertainment and swim short/suit. Besides that, just bring what you would otherwise bring on a 3-day trip.
